And, as usual, it was Jennings who was largely to blame for the disasters which followed. There was, for instance, the Form 3 Home-made High Fidelity Telephone designed for transmitting vital messages between Mars (Dormitory 4) and Earth (Dormitory 6): there was Jennings' well-meant attempt to turn over a new leaf - a state of affairs which led to more chaos than the effort was worth. As though this was not enough to try the patience of the long-suffering Mr. Wilkins there followed the nerve-racking affair of the Assistant Masterpiece and the ill-fated incident of the Christmas decorations which resulted in unexpected developments at the end-of-term party...
