When Jennings came to look back upon it, it seemed that the whole term had billowed along in a torrent of ups and downs. Even the simplest problems develop in alarming fashion when Jennings tries to solve them, and though Darbishire does his best to steer clear of trouble there is little hope for thim so long as Jennings' fertile brain is at work.
It is small wonder, then, that the preparations for the end-of-term concert give rise to scenes of turmoil and confusion when Jennings takes the stage.
"Jennings and Darbishire... It would be!" says Mr. Carter, when he finds them accidentally locked in the out-of-bounds boiler room - or discovers them travelling by bus on the last stages of a cross-country run. However, the term so full of excitement and humour, finishes up with the boys on the crest of the wave. And that, Jennings maintained, was what really mattered...

Top and tail of spine slightly faded. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Light foxing to outer page edges. Pictorial wrapper is NOT price-cut but is faded to spine and worn and chipped at edges with some loss, front fold is split with front flap almost detached.
